UNMASKING THE STRONG MAN
To defeat the enemy, you must first recognize and understand who he is. The term “strong man” used by Jesus in Luke 11:21–22 refers to more than a metaphor—it speaks of a spiritual personality with authority, structure, and assignment. The strong man is a demonic enforcer who operates with military-like discipline, guarding stolen destinies and blessings until he is violently overthrown.
“No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.”

Jesus makes it clear: You cannot access what the enemy has stolen or is guarding without first binding him. Many believers skip this principle in spiritual warfare, focusing on “the goods” (breakthrough, healing, restoration) without first identifying and binding “the strong man.”
Who or What Is the Strong Man?
The strong man is a demonic prince or spiritual custodian assigned by the kingdom of darkness to:
• Resist spiritual advancement
• Guard territories and bloodlines
• Enforce demonic decrees
• Maintain altars and covenants
• Oppress and manipulate destinies
These strong men vary in power and function. Some are territorial (Daniel 10:13), while others are familial, generational, or situational.
Examples:
• The Prince of Persia (Daniel 10:13): Blocked angelic assistance to Daniel for 21 days.
• Goliath: A physical representation of intimidation and territorial resistance.
• The Demoniac of Gadara (Mark 5): One man, yet controlled an entire region by fear through possession.
Tools of the Strong Man:
1. Ignorance – He thrives when believers lack knowledge (Hosea 4:6).
2. Legal Grounds – He gains rights through sin, covenants, or curses.
3. Fear and Intimidation – He paralyzes progress through fear.
4. Altars and Bloodline Ties – He reinforces his claim through generational ties.
5. Witchcraft and Idolatry – Opens gateways for his operations.
The strong man is not a casual force. He must be engaged strategically and spiritually. You cannot negotiate with him—you must confront and bind him.
How to Unmask the Strong Man:
1. Ask God for Discernment (Hebrews 5:14): Many times, strong men hide behind patterns.
2. Identify Spiritual Patterns – Repeated tragedies, cycles of failure, or stagnation.
3. Examine Your Bloodline – What battles did your parents or grandparents face?
4. Engage in Prayer and Fasting – This sharpens spiritual perception.
5. Seek the Help of the Holy Spirit – He reveals all things (John 16:13).
