Good morning everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
My apologies for not posting yesterday. It was a very busy day. Up early and on the road to the airport. Got going a little too early and stopped at a flea market to kill time. Back on the road and at some point we realized that we did not bring toll road gizmo. Oops. They will send me a bill. Low and behold, on the way to the airport, we did not go on any toll roads. Interesting…LOL. Wonder ‘who’ made that happen? Rental turn in was a breeze and we got to spend some quality time with the kids before they had to tackle security. Hugs were in abundance except for one. She was ready to go home, but she was not ready to leave. My heart melted.
We took off and had a rather uneventful ride home, until the GPS had us turn one turn too early. But that was okay, we got to see some areas that we had not been before. Pretty beautiful and woodsy. Picked up the other grands from a friend and took them back to the Labor Day festival so they could see the demo derby and play some games. It was here that life got a little interesting. My husband, stubborn man that he is and full of life, found out that he is not as young as he used to be and got too hot. In the too hot, his blood pressure rose a bit, and he started having chest pains. We found the medic tent and they were awesome. They were a bit overly cautious wanting him to go to the hospital, but we refused. In the short time that we set in the shade and drank some water, everything settled down. The medics were able to secure a golf cart ride to the parking lot for him while me and the kids raced each other. By the time we got home, everything had settled down. This morning he is outside being himself.
The weather yesterday was absolutely gorgeous. The sun was beautifully high, the temperature was not terrible, and the peace that echoed through the air in all the travels was very much welcomed. In the drive home, God gave me another story to write and ideas on the fourth book of the series. Now all I need is the focus to start them both. Oh, and submit the book I just wrote. Haha. The ideas are flooding my mind faster than I can keep up. Good thing for me is that they will spin around in there until I sit down. Haha.
Today, as I prepare to return to work, I am basking in the presence of the Lord and replaying ALL the memories that he blessed us with over the last three weeks. Add to that the countless coverings. My house is quiet, and it sounds weird. But the echoes of my German littles will be forever in my ears and heart.
What is echoing in your heart? What sounds do you hear?
I encourage you today to sit and hear your blessings resound beyond the physical. Sit in His presence and engulf his love. The joy and peace that it brings, even in the time of storms, is astounding.
Be blessed today my friends.
