Pastor Greg Laurie:
A Photo—and a Legacy
I came across a photo recently that stopped me in my tracks. It was of me baptizing my son, Jonathan, many years ago. I still remember that day. It was powerful. Emotional. One of the greatest joys of my life as a dad.
But then I saw the next photo—and it hit me even deeper.
This time, Jonathan and I, along with his other grandfather, Dave, were baptizing Jonathan’s son… my grandson, Christopher.
Three generations. One message. One Savior.
That’s not just a proud family moment—that’s legacy. That’s discipleship in motion. That’s what it looks like when the Gospel is passed down, lived out, and carried forward.
Deuteronomy 6 says:
“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road…”
That’s the calling for every parent… every grandparent… every follower of Jesus.
Not just to talk about faith—but to live it.
Not just to hand out verses—but to model them.
Not just once—but over and over again, with love, consistency, and truth.
Because our job isn’t just to walk with Jesus ourselves.
It’s to hand off that torch to the next generation—so they can run even further.
Let’s stay faithful, friends.
Let’s keep the main thing the main thing.
Let’s make sure the Gospel doesn’t end with us—but multiplies through us.
