THE STRONGER MAN — JESUS CHRIST OUR DELIVERER
“But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.”
— Luke 11:22 (KJV)
In this verse, Jesus does more than describe a spiritual battle—He reveals His supremacy over the kingdom of darkness. No matter how powerful the strong man may appear, there is a Stronger Man—Jesus Christ—who comes with superior authority, divine strength, and final victory.
This is the good news: We are not left to fight alone. Christ, the Mighty Deliverer, has already triumphed over every power of darkness and granted that victory to us!
Who Is the Stronger Man?
Jesus Christ is:
• The Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5)
• The One with all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18)
• The Head of all principality and power (Colossians 2:10)
• The One who disarmed and made a public spectacle of the enemy (Colossians 2:15)
• The Chain Breaker and Liberator of captives (Isaiah 61:1–2)
He came not only to save us from sin but to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).
How Jesus Overthrows the Strong Man
1. By His Blood
“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb...” — Revelation 12:11
The blood of Jesus speaks deliverance, redemption, and legal freedom. It revokes every covenant, altar, curse, and accusation against us.
2. By His Word
“The Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword...” — Hebrews 4:12
Jesus overcame the devil in the wilderness by declaring the Word. When we engage the Word in warfare, it becomes a weapon to destroy strongholds.
3. By the Power of the Cross
“Having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” — Colossians 2:15
At the cross, Jesus defeated satanic structures. Every strong man was disarmed—stripped of legal power and eternal authority.
4. By the Fire of the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is our power source. Through Him, we receive fire to consume demonic resistance, discern spiritual activity, and command the enemy to flee.
5. Through His Name
“At the name of Jesus every knee should bow...” — Philippians 2:10
The name of Jesus is not just a label—it is an eternal force of divine authority. Strong men must bow to the name of Jesus.
How to Walk in the Authority of the Stronger Man
1. Be Truly Born Again: Only those under Christ's lordship carry His authority.
2. Walk in Holiness: Sin undermines spiritual power.
3. Grow in the Word: Knowledge of Scripture strengthens warfare.
4. Be Spirit-Filled: Daily fellowship with the Holy Ghost keeps your fire burning.
5. Exercise Bold Faith: Boldness breaks barriers. Fear empowers the enemy.
