THE ADVENT TRUTH

Many critics twist what Seventh-day Adventists actually believe.

Let’s clear up the lies.

“SDA believe Satan makes atonement for our sins.”

This is a gross misrepresentation. Adventists believe only Jesus’ blood atones for sin (Hebrews 9:12, 1 John 1:7). The confusion comes from Leviticus 16, where on the Day of Atonement two goats were used: one for the Lord, one for Azazel (a symbol of Satan). The priest first made atonement with the blood of the Lord’s goat — representing Jesus. THEN the sins of the people were placed on the scapegoat and sent into the wilderness, showing Satan bears the blame for causing sin, NOT that he atones for it. This mirrors Revelation 20:10 where Satan is destroyed, paying for his rebellion. Christ’s work alone saves; Satan’s fate only demonstrates divine justice.

“Ellen G. White was possessed.”

Ellen White’s ministry was marked by a life of humility, service, and faithfulness to Scripture — not the confusion and darkness of demonic influence.

“By their fruits ye shall know them” (Matthew 7:16).
She uplifted Jesus as Savior and constantly pointed people to the Bible, not herself. Her visions brought physical phenomena doctors examined and could not explain — such as breathing without breath for extended periods (Daniel 10:17 parallels). Her writings have led millions to health, deeper Bible study, and victory over sin — fruits that demons cannot produce.

“Adventists read the Bible with blinders on.”

The Bible is one unified story of redemption. Jesus Himself said the Law, Prophets, and Psalms testify of Him (Luke 24:27, 44). It’s not narrow to let Scripture interpret Scripture, — it’s obedience to God’s method (Isaiah 28:10).

While Adventists respect Ellen White, she is not the final authority; the Bible alone is.

She herself said, “The Bible and the Bible only is the standard of all doctrines.”

Adventists don’t follow myths or secret books. We follow Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29), and we believe His Word completely.
