1 minute in Philemon
How did Paul show meekness?
9 times Paul referenced meekness in his writings, and in his final letter to Philemon he displays his own meekness with style and grace!
On a high level, this is a communication to Philemon to compel him to take Onesimus back. Onesimus was once Philemon's servant, but had run away and somehow connected to Paul. And then Onesimus became a child of God, likely through Paul's influence, and is now seeking to be reconciled to Philemon.
And it's due to all this that Paul writes this letter.
Now Paul could have simply exerted his authority as an apostle and commanded Philemon to take Onesimus back, but that wouldn't have been good for either man and certainly would not have fostered a renewing of a relationship between them.
Therefore, Paul "made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a" prisoner, "in the likeness of" a friend, and asked Philemon to take Onesimus back! (Philippians 2:7-8)
