“[43] And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
[44] And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.”
-John 11:43-44

Thought Of The Day...
The scene at Lazarus’ tomb is one of the most powerful displays of Christ’s authority over death. With just a word, Jesus called life back into a man who had been dead four days. But notice something important—Lazarus came out alive, yet still bound. Though the miracle of resurrection was complete, Lazarus still needed to be set free from the graveclothes that held him.
This paints a picture of salvation and deliverance. When we come to Christ, we pass from death to life (Ephesians 2:1). Yet many believers, though saved, still walk around with “graveclothes”—habits, fears, guilt, shame, or past wounds that keep them from living in full freedom. Jesus has the power to resurrect, but He also desires that we be loosed from anything that hinders us from walking in newness of life.
Notice also that Jesus involved others in the process. He told those standing nearby, “Loose him, and let him go.” The community had a part in Lazarus’ freedom. In the same way, God calls us to help one another walk in liberty—encouraging, praying, and bearing one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2).

Something to Think About:
• Am I alive in Christ but still bound by something that holds me back?
• Do I need to let the Lord remove graveclothes from my life?
• How can I help someone else walk in freedom?
Jesus not only wants you alive—He wants you free. He didn’t just raise Lazarus to life, He commanded liberty. And He is speaking the same over you today: “Be loosed, and walk in the freedom I have given you.”

Prayer...
Heavenly Father, I thank You for calling me out of the grave of sin and giving me new life through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Lord, I don’t want to just be alive—I want to walk in freedom. Remove every graveclothe of fear, guilt, and bondage from my life. Help me to release the past and embrace the abundant life You have promised. Teach me also to walk with others, encouraging them, praying for them, and helping them live free in You. Thank You for the victory of the cross and the power of resurrection life that works in me today. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
