My daily devotional Scripture from James, and Luke and comments by Ellen White and me.

James 2:14-19
(14)What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? (15)If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
(16)And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
(17)Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
(18)Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. (19)Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

We really need to understand that our works won't save us but works with out faith is dead we need our work to go with our faith, because as it says in (V.16) if some one is hungry or thirsty or even cold and we say God bless you and have a blessed day and do nothing at all our work is no good because we did nothing at all. So we need to be like the church's in the past where we took care of our widows, orphans, and homeless. So please if you see someone in need do all you can do to help it doesn't have to be much a meal for the day or a you could give them a small care package soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste and a razor and shaving cream and mist if these things cost about $1.50-$2.00 each and maybe all to then for $15.00 but if you can not help them then do not stop because words are cheep but a call to action is what is needed.just as in Luke 10:25-37 where the man on the road that was beaten robed and left for dead, and two people walked by and crossed over to the other side of the road "BUT" a Samaritan the most despised by most of the Jewish community stop, put him on his own ride, took him to an Inn and put him up until he recovers and told the Inn keeper to take care of him until he got better and he gave the Inn keeper money and said if it wasn't enough he would pay the rest when he came back through. So see the Samaritan took action and did what he thought was right so who do you think was the real man of God?

as “faith without works is dead,” the only way for a man to “show his faith” will be “by his works;” or, otherwise expressed, our willingness to do and sacrifice in the service of Christ will furnish the exact measure of our faith in the gospel which we are called upon to proclaim. AWMW 146.2
