Good morning, everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
Last night as I prayed my nightly prayers, I asked God to cover me and lead me into a peaceful slumber. I also asked him to prepare me for the journey ahead. Not just on the personal level, but on the global level. Yes, global.
Yesterday, a man of faith and of God was shot from afar, through the neck, and died. Why? Because he was speaking out about evil. Because he was speaking out about right and wrong. Because he was engaging in an open forum debate. Because he hurt someone’s feelings. Because he was following the leading of the Holy Spirit to share the gospel and to speak the Truth. That is why he was murdered yesterday, not because he was a conservative, but because he was a man of God making progress in the minds of this new generation.
My mind is flooded with thoughts and opinions that I want to speak about. However, the Holy Spirit has made it clear that there is only ONE topic to be discussed this morning. Division.
Many of the video clips out there are from those who are celebrating the murder of this child of God. Some are saying it was a stunt gone wrong. Some are saying his own followers, in jovial adoration, shot him by accident. The pure, unadulterated, gleeful celebratory expression from their voices and faces breaks my heart. Yes, it breaks my heart. These are the lost that he was trying to reach with the Truth.
The commentators who have come out to condemn or admonish those who find this tragedy to be something to cheer about have, unfortunately, placed a lot of blame on political influence. Where this might be part of the problem, let's not get caught up in this dogma. Can we please just call this for what it is … Evil.
Satan saw the rapidly growing response to this young man’s ministry of open debate and lost his grip. Charlie Kirk was reaching the minds of the young and lost, costing the enemy valuable territory and souls. Just as he entered into Judas to betray Jesus, he entered into the shooter and took out Charlie. This was a direct hit to the Christian movement. Not politics. Revival is coming … happening … and Satan is mad.
In this assassination, the enemy has created yet another divide. Red blaming blue. Blue blaming red. This is not political. This is love verses hate. Following verses lost. God verses the devil. See this for what it is.
The gun used to shoot this young man was only a tool used to commit the offense. Just as the fertilizer was Timothy McVeigh’s tool of choice. The planes were the tool of choice 24 years ago. A rock was the tool of choice for Cain. Guns are not the problem, the lack of God in our spirit and our homes. When God was voluntarily removed from our lives, over the course of the years, Satan’s playground expanded quickly and exponentially.
Yes, we are in the end times. That is not the issue or the question. Whether it is the end times or not, we as Christians are supposed to be bold, courageous, faithful, truthful, and loving…just as Christ taught us to be.
Satan knows that his time is drawing closed and he is not happy. So if he can cause a divide among those here on the earth he has a chance of securing more players for his eternity team. If he can get Christians to embrace their emotional flesh and start calling out people in less than loving voices, then he can create a Grand Canyon chasm and potentially secure more souls. How do we stop this? How do we correct the wrong? We love.
To the person who shot and killed a man of God, I pray for you. I pray that you see the error of your action and come to Jesus. To the family of Charlie, know that he was a righteous man, doing God’s work unapologetically the way he felt that he was led. Know that he reached and touched souls. To the rest of us, those walking this path of love through the trails of hatred, our purpose it to plant seeds, water seeds that have been planted, and create a bountiful field in the time of harvest. We are not to hate or condemn. We are not to judge. We are to continue the journey as Charlie did. Speaking truth, love, grace, and mercy. We are to do so unafraid and unapologetically. We are to stand firm and courageous. WE are to be the engineers to blow up the divide and build the bridge for those lost to come home.
Today, I am asking that we stay out of his arena of division and focus on the God’s arena of repairing the divide. Charlie was open to the hard talks, if we all step up and have the hard talks on our levels, then we will construct the bridge he was working on … one nail at a time, one brick at a time.
Do not hate the people who are lost. Do not hate the shooter. Do not hate the right or the left. Pray for them, earnestly.
Be blessed today my friends.
