THE ADVENT TRUTH

Hundreds of years ago, the Protestant Reformation was born. The rallying cry was Sola Scriptura—(the Bible and the Bible alone) as the rule of faith. But what happened? Fast forward and most denominations have quietly slipped right back into Rome’s embrace, not even realizing it.

Think about it. Nearly every church today has adopted doctrines that don’t come from Scripture, but from the Catholic system Martin Luther and the Reformers protested against. Eternal torment in hell? Straight out of pagan Rome, not the Bible. Sunday sacredness? Instituted by the papacy, not Christ or the apostles. The immortality of the soul? Greek philosophy baptized by Rome. Infant baptism, confession, the removal of God’s Law—all Catholic inventions.

So what do we have today? Baptist Catholics. Methodist Catholics. Pentecostal Catholics. Lutheran Catholics. The names may be different, but the doctrines are recycled. By rejecting the authority of Scripture in favor of tradition, modern Protestantism has lost its identity.

Jesus warned, “In vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men” (Mark 7:7). Paul declared that there would be a great falling away (2 Thess. 2). Revelation shows a harlot mother (Babylon) with many daughters—(churches) who cling to their mother’s teachings Roman Catholicism) while claiming independence. That’s exactly where we are today.

True Protestantism doesn’t stop at “faith alone.” It means faith that obeys God’s Word, even when it goes against popular tradition. It means standing where Scripture stands and rejecting every doctrine that Rome has smuggled into the churches. The Reformers started the work, but we are called to finish it.
Revelation 18:4 gives the appeal: “Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins.”

The question is—are you following the Bible, or are you just another denominational Catholic without knowing it?
