Selective Outrage vs. Godly Outrage:

Family, I want to speak truth in love today. I’ve seen many posts about the death of Charlie Kirk, and while death should grieve us all, I have to ask—are some of you upset because he was a Christian? Or because he belonged to your political party?
Just last week, children were murdered in their schools while simply trying to get an education. Innocent lives were stolen, yet I saw no outrage, no posts, no cries for justice on your news feeds. Where was the heartbreak for them?
Do we as Christians only care about children before they are born—but once they are killed in this world, we remain silent? God calls us to value all life, not just when it fits our politics.
The Bible says:
“Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.” – Proverbs 31:8-9
“Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” – 1 John 3:18
Let me remind you: Jesus did not die for Democrats or Republicans. He died for sinners—you, me, and the whole world (John 3:16). When we put political parties above the Word of God, we have made them idols. And God is not pleased.
Paul said clearly:
“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 3:20
I choose Jesus over country.
I choose Jesus over political views.
I choose Jesus over selective outrage.
It’s time for the Church to return to the basics—the Word of God. Because only the Word of God, not politics, has the power to save.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, We come before You in humility, asking for forgiveness where we have allowed politics, pride, and selective outrage to harden our hearts. Your Word tells us in Micah 6:8 that You require us to “do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly” with You. Lord, too often we have cared more about defending parties than defending the lives You value.
Father, give us eyes to see every life as precious, from the unborn child to the elderly, from the poor to the powerful, from the well-known to the unnoticed. Break our hearts for what breaks Yours.
We lift up every grieving family—those who lost loved ones in shootings, those who lost children in schools, and those mourning deaths we may not even know about. Comfort them, Lord, as only You can. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
Jesus, guard us from making idols out of politics. Remind us that our true citizenship is in Heaven (Philippians 3:20). Let our loyalty first and always be to You. Help us to speak truth with boldness but also with love, knowing that You came not to condemn the world but to save it (John 3:17).
Holy Spirit, give us courage to stand for life, justice, and righteousness without partiality. May we be known not for selective outrage, but for consistent Christlike compassion.
We declare today: we choose Jesus over country, Jesus over political parties, Jesus over our own opinions. You alone are Lord, and to You alone we give our allegiance.
In the mighty name of Jesus we pray,
Amen.
