Good morning, everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
Last night I repeated my prayer for covering for a good night’s sleep and to cover me in the journey that He has prepared for me. As I listened to the rain drops from my white noise in my ear bud, a video clip continued to run through my mind. Wednesday I saw a clip of Charlie Kirk, and he expressed his favorite Hebrew word.
Hineni. This word translates to … Here I am.
He referenced that he wanted God to know that he had completely surrendered to His will and here he was to be used however God needed. As that made laps in my head, several images came to mind of how God uses us.
King David was the finest of all the kings, my opinion, yet he sinned a blatant sin. He allowed his urges for a married woman of one of his commanders to overtake his duty to God. She became pregnant and instead of repenting of his sin, David had that commander sent to the harshest of battlefields so that he would not return and thus attempting to cover up his sin. So David lusted, committed adultery, lying (false testimony), and ultimately murder. Looks like he was shooting for the gambit here of the ten commandments. As punishment for his sin, God took this son from David. Now, some would say that is too harsh, but … if you look at it like this, He (God) saved that child and brought it home to heaven to save him/her from the evil that is on this earth. Though David fasted and prayed for the healing of the child, God called the child home. The child went home to the Father and David became a better king for being held accountable for his actions.
Now I believe that all situations like this are punishments. NO. No, I do not. In this situation, God needed to get David’s attention and because David was righteous man … for the most part … he understood the consequence. The child did not suffer; the child was rewarded with a pass to return to heaven.
As I write this, I think about the loss of my first born. Was I being punished? No, I don’t think so. I believe that God saw something in me to be able to witness on the loss of a child and remain faithful. Even though at the time of her death, I was not faithful, I was not thankful, I was quite angry. Today, in reflection of the events, He used those moments to help me grow into the person that I am now.
Charlie Kirk was murdered by evil. How we respond to that evil is how we fix the problem in the country. Charlie Kirk’s death, where seemingly was too early in our eyes, was right on time in God’s. This is the path that he chose when he agreed to say, “Here I am”.
I have watched several clips of his, and though I do not agree with his approach to some of the debates, he was walking the path that God laid out for him … with a complete and courageous posture. So what does that mean for us? What path has God put you on? What journey is He using you for? Are you all in, or are you still listening to the lies of the enemy that it is too hard?
On this page I have always tried to speak the truth. Attempted to start discussions. Showed that my life is not that different from anyone else’s. On this page I have tried to share the simple truth of what it is like to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
We are on day two of this horrific event. What have you done to show the world that evil is not the only existence left? Yesterday I spent quality time with my mother, who is aging. I spoke peace into a young person. I added humor to a waitress’s day. I gave thanks to a young man who was assisting us. What have you done, to ensure that others know that there is more to this world than evil?
Now is the time to tell the Lord, “Here I am”. Will you?
Be blessed today my friends.
