The Finger of God in Deliverance “Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God…” – Exodus 8:19 When God sent Moses to deliver Israel from Egypt, He performed mighty signs and wonders to demonstrate His power. The magicians of Pharaoh were able to imitate some of the miracles at first, but eventually, they reached their limit. When Moses brought forth lice from the dust of the ground, the magicians could not replicate it. They were forced to confess: “This is the finger of God.” This is the mystery of the finger of God in deliverance — a dimension of God’s power that no man, no demon, and no kingdom of darkness can counterfeit. 1. The Finger of God Exposes the Limitations of the Enemy Satan has power, but it is limited. Pharaoh’s magicians could mimic the first few signs, but they eventually failed. This shows that every power of darkness has a boundary — and when the finger of God moves, those boundaries are exposed. The devil may try to delay your deliverance, but he cannot deny it when God’s finger is at work. 2. The Finger of God Breaks Bondage The plagues in Egypt were not just random acts; they were God’s way of dismantling Egypt’s idols and powers. Each plague was a direct assault on the so-called “gods” of Egypt. When the finger of God is revealed: • Chains are broken. • Oppressors are silenced. • False powers are exposed. • Deliverance becomes undeniable. Just as Israel walked out of Egypt by the mighty finger of God, so can you walk out of every captivity. 3. The Finger of God Brings Supernatural Victory The magicians confessed, but Pharaoh hardened his heart. This teaches us that deliverance is not just about the breaking of chains, but also about God displaying His supremacy over every power that resists His will. Deliverance is not a battle between equals — it is the finger of God against the feeble attempts of darkness. Victory is inevitable when God moves. 4. Deliverance in Christ Jesus affirmed this in Luke 11:20: “But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.” Deliverance in the New Testament is a manifestation of the finger of God. Every time a demon is cast out, it is evidence that God’s kingdom has invaded the territory of darkness. Reflection • Do I believe that no power of darkness can resist the finger of God in my life? • Are there areas where I still fear the enemy more than I trust God’s delivering power? • How can I walk daily in the confidence that I am under God’s supreme authority? Prayer Points 1. O Lord, stretch forth Your finger and break every chain of bondage in my life. 2. By the finger of God, I command every stubborn Pharaoh in my life to let me go. 3. Father, expose and disgrace every counterfeit power working against me. 4. O God, let the finger of deliverance manifest in my family, health, and destiny. 5. By the finger of God, I enter into my season of freedom and supernatural victory. ✨ The magicians had to confess, “This is the finger of God.” In the same way, your enemies will soon acknowledge that your deliverance is not by human effort but by the undeniable intervention of God Himself.
