Truth is, it's not easy to live in the flesh.
Being a human in the flesh automatically makes you vulnerable to the devil.
You're already in trouble with the devil, because he's forever envious of humans since the days of Adam and the rebellion in heaven.
Being in the flesh puts you on his radar and his arrows are always aimed at you, especially when you are not part of his movement and plans.
Being in the flesh is like wearing a blindfold against the plans of the devil and his arrows.
Being in the flesh is like standing at a spot where the light is shining while the devil is in the dark seeing you clearly, he aims at you and can attack you perfectly.
While you can't see him or know what he's planning or when he's attacking you.
The flesh is already corrupted and weak_ desiring things contrary to the things of the spirit, making it more difficult everyday to stay away from things of the world.
But...
While all cards seem to be in favour of the devil, God did something_ knowing it would be hard for man to win the battle with mere strength and might.
The battle in the world (against the devil) is not of the carnal or physical might, therefore, you'll need something beyond the physical.
Even Jesus when He came into the world in the flesh, He understood the limitations and weaknesses of the flesh. The advantages the devil has against humans using the flesh.
And in (Matthew 3:16, John 1:33)
He received an EMPOWERMENT known as the helper (the Holy Spirit) against the work and troubles that were ahead of Him.
And in (Matthew 4:1-11)
The Holy Spirit empowered Him to fast, and when He was led into the wilderness, the Holy Spirit gave him the enablement to overcome the weakness of the flesh.
Remember, it was immediately after the fast the devil came to use fleshly desires to tempt Jesus, but the Holy Spirit was upon Him. He overcame and much more went ahead doing good, healing the sick and performing signs and wonders.
And that's why even when Jesus died, He promised He was going to send us a helper.
Because He knows you and I will need it to fight the battle, stay active and connected to the other realm which the devil dwells and gains an advantage over us.
After we receive salvation, we all need the help and empowerment of the Holy Spirit to do greater works, win over our flesh and the battle against the devil.
The message is clear.
You can't do it on your own
The battle between you and the flesh which you carry is not physical and can't be overcome by mere strength.
To see and understand the plans, strategies of the devil, and how to attack him, you'll need the help and empowerment of the Holy Spirit through divine guidance and revelations.
Every believer needs the Holy Spirit.
And if you're yet to be born again, the Holy Spirit can't dwell in you.
You aren't ready yet for the empowerment, and that means you're still vulnerable to the devil and easily subdued by flesh.
