If you truly desire to be a man of power, you must first be a friend of truth.

Power without truth is dangerous and short lived, but power that is rooted in truth is unshakable and enduring. Many people want influence, authority, and respect, but they do not want to embrace the discipline of living by truth.

Truth is the foundation of credibility. When you walk in truth, people can trust your words and follow your leadership. Lies may lift a man for a season, but when the storm of reality comes, he will collapse. A man of truth, however, stands firm because his foundation cannot be destroyed.

Spiritually, truth connects you to God, for the Bible says Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life.” To walk in truth is to walk with Christ, and to walk with Christ is to carry divine authority. Joseph, Daniel, and many others in scripture became men of power because they were loyal to truth even when it was costly.

If you want lasting power in your family, in your ministry, in your community you must be a lover of truth. Speak the truth, live the truth, defend the truth, and stand by the truth, and power will naturally follow you.
