HEBREWS 12
12 As for us, we have this large crowd of witnesses around us. So then, let us rid ourselves of everything that gets in the way, and of the sin which holds on to us so tightly, and let us run with determination the race that lies before us.
*It is not enough to accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, it is also important to rid ourselves of all hindrances on our path to heaven. The Christian race does not allow for any form of worldly attachment. Whatever strives to be attached to you or shift your focus from Jesus is your enemy. Sometimes, some of these side attractions may not be sinful on their own, but highly magnetic to sin. If you fail to rid them off, they will disqualify you from winning. Pause now and take a few minutes to meditate on the things that always pull you into sin. Think about those things that usually create room for ungodliness in you. What are the things that usually stimulate that sinful habit you find so impossible to overcome? Rid off all sinful attractions. Hand yourself over to the Holy Spirit fully.*
