I don’t believe we should dumb down our walk in Christ, to keep from making non Christians uncomfortable in their sin! We’re going to “not offend” people straight to hell. When they stand before God they can’t use the excuse, “I wasn’t perfect”. The entire reason Christ died on the cross was to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, destroy the penalty of sin, and live His life in and through us.(Galatians 2:20 & John 16:7). For us to continue to proclaim otherwise goes directly against The Word of God and says, through our actions, that Christ’s death on the cross along with The Holy Spirit who dwells within us has no power to keep us! God sees us as perfect through the shed blood of Christ. Does that mean we are perfect? No, it means we are forgiven and we need to walk in that forgiveness on a daily, moment by moment bases. The Holy Spirit uses those imperfections in our lives to teach us and grow us to be more Christlike. (2 Timothy 3:16,17). All throughout the Word it teaches us that the tongue is powerfully! (James 3:4-6). But hey, I’ll use profanity anyway because “I’m not perfect”. How can we show others that we take our actions seriously if we continue to make excuses for our sin?
