THE FINGER OF GOD AND DIVINE PROTECTION “For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.” – Psalm 91:11–12 The finger of God not only delivers and judges but also protects. Divine protection is one of the clearest evidences of God’s finger at work in the lives of His children. When the enemy plots evil, when dangers loom, and when destruction threatens, the finger of God draws a line of defense that the adversary cannot cross. 1. The Finger of God as a Shield In Exodus, while Egypt was being plagued, the children of Israel in Goshen were preserved. The finger of God distinguished them from the Egyptians. His protection is selective and precise — shielding His people even in the midst of chaos. • Plagues may strike a nation, but His finger shields His covenant children. • Arrows may fly by day and pestilence by night, but His hand covers His own (Psalm 91:5–7). • No curse or enchantment can penetrate the shield of God’s finger (Numbers 23:23). 2. The Finger of God Draws Boundaries God’s finger sets invisible boundaries that the enemy cannot cross. In Job 1:10, even Satan admitted that God had placed a hedge around Job, his household, and all that he had. This hedge is the finger of God marking territory: • Protecting your health. • Guarding your family. • Preserving your destiny. 3. The Finger of God Silences the Enemy In Exodus 14:19–20, the angel of God moved between Israel and the Egyptians, creating darkness for the enemy but light for God’s people. That was divine protection at work. When the finger of God is upon you, the enemy’s attacks are neutralized, their weapons are rendered powerless, and their voices are silenced. 4. The Finger of God Preserves Destiny God’s protection is not only about physical safety but also about preserving destiny. Pharaoh tried to destroy Moses, Herod tried to kill Jesus, and the enemy has always sought to terminate divine assignments prematurely. Yet the finger of God preserved them until their missions were fulfilled. Likewise, His finger ensures that your destiny will not be cut short before its time. 5. Trusting in the Finger of God for Protection Divine protection is activated by faith, obedience, and covenant relationship. As we walk with God, His finger becomes our covering, ensuring that we are untouchable by the enemy until our divine purpose is complete. Reflection • Do I live daily in the confidence of God’s protection, or do I walk in fear? • Am I conscious that the finger of God has drawn boundaries around my life? • Do I trust that my destiny is preserved until God’s purpose for me is fulfilled? Prayer Points 1. Father, let Your finger be a hedge of protection around my life and family. 2. O Lord, by Your finger, silence every voice of the enemy rising against me. 3. By the finger of God, let every weapon fashioned against me backfire. 4. Father, preserve my destiny from premature destruction. 5. His finger shields, preserves, and secures those who belong to Him.
