An Oath in which it was impossible for God to lie KJV
Hebrews 6:9-20 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end;
That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
For when God made promise to A'-bra-ham, because he could swear by no greater, sware by himself,
saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
For men verily swear by the greater; and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
Wherein God, willingly more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath;
That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us;
Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Wither the forerunner is for us entered, even Je'sus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Mel'chis'-e-dec.
Romans 3:1-9 What advantage hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?
Much every way; chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.
For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?
God forbid; yea, let God be true, but every man a lair; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy saying, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)
God forbid; for then how shall God judge the world?
For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet I also judged as a sinner?
And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.
What then, are we better than they? No, in no wise; for we have before proved both Jews and Gen'-tiles, that they are all under sin;
Hebrews 10:36-39 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
Now the just shall live by faith; but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saying of the soul.
