Last night was the last of an 8 week Men's Bible Study. We were doing Tony Evan's "Overcoming".
Wow!!! Talk about taking a hard look at your own life. During this course I learned to always ALWAYS seek to put God First in all things I say and do.
My daily prayer in the morning:
Dear Lord, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I ask that you open my heart that I may feel your love, I ask that you open my ears that I may hear you more, I ask that you open my mind to understand better, I ask you open my eyes that I may see you better, I ask that you seal my lips before I speak. I ask that everything I say and do today be for YOUR glory and not mine.
I ask this in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus, Amen.
As I sit here I feel his presence and I feel special. The course of overcoming covered the 7 churches in Revelations. We learned what each church needed to hear and how they could get back into the grace of God and Christ. How they could overcome and what their rewards were for overcoming. These same lessons apply to us today.
1. Remember your first love. Remember how much you felt the love of Christ when you were first saved. Never forget, always strive for that first love.
2. Do not let compromise with the world to enter your life. So many in today's churches are compromising God's Word to be more "acceptable" to the world and we must not do that. For to do so is to be disobedient to God.
3. Do not let your success fool you into believing you no longer need God in your life. That you got things under control because you're so successful.
4. Make a conscious effort daily to seek to put God first in your life. Seek that special relationship with Christ.
How to do all this? Get into His Word Daily and Seek His approval in all things.
At least that is what I walked away with.
I will continue posting what I learn each day hopefully. I plan on posting about my Bible School studies as I start in Genesis and work my through the Bible toward a Degree.
Praise The Lord for such a platform I may share my walk with Jesus.
I always welcome comment and discussion as well. For it is through fellowship we all grow.
God Bless
