Psalm 86:1-17 Incline thy ear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
Preserve my life, for I am godly; save thy servant who trust in thee. Thou are my God;
be gracious to me, O LORD, for to thee do I cry all the day.
Gladden the soul of thy servant, for to thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
For thou, O lord, art good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on thee.
Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; hearken to my cry of supplication.
In the day of my trouble I call on thee, for thou dost answer me.
There is none like thee among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like thine.
All the nations thou hast made shall come and bow down before thee, O Lord, and shall glorify thy name.
For thou art great and doest wondrous things, thou alone art God.
Teach me thy way, O Lord, that I may walk in thy truth; unite my heart to fear thy name.
I give thanks to thee, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify thy name for ever.
For great is thy steadfast love toward me; thou hast delivered my soul from the depths of She'-ol.
O God, insolent men have risen up against me; a band of ruthless man seek my life, and they do not set thee before them.
But thou, O Lord, art a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
Turn to me and take pity on me; give thy strength to thy servant, and save the son of thy handmaid.
Show me a sign of thy favor, that those who hate me may see and be put to shame because thou, LORD, hast helped me and comforted me.

O my God, in thee I trust, let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exalt over me.
Yea, let none that wait for thee be put to shame; let them be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.

I stretch out my hands to thee; my soul thirsts for thee like a parched land.
Make haste to answer me, O LORD! My spirit fails! Hide not thy face from me, lest I be like those who go down to the Pit.
Let me hear in the mourning of thy steadfast love, for in thee I put my trust. Teach me the way I should go, for to thee I lift up my soul.
Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies! I have fled to thee for refuge!
Teach me to do thy will, for thou art my God! Let thy good spirit lead me on a level path!
For thy name's sake, O LORD, preserve my life! In thy righteousness bring me out of trouble!
And in thy steadfast love cut off my enemies, and destroy all my adversaries, for I am they servant.

I believe that I shall see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living!

keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children's children, to the third and the fourth generation."
