Proverbs 1:10-19 NKJV
Proverbs 1:10-19 My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.
If they say, "Come with us, Let us lie in wait to shed blood; Let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause;
Let us swallow them alive like Sheol, and whole, like those who go down to the Pit;
We shall find all kinds of precious possessions, We shall fill our houses with spoil;
Cast in your lot among us, Let us all have one purpose"--
My son, do not walk in the way with them, Keep your foot from their path;
For their feet run to evil, And they make haste to shed blood.
Surely, in vain the net is spread In the sight of any bird;
But they lie in wait for their own blood, They lurk secretly for their own lives.
So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain; It takes away the life of its owners.
Genesis 39:7-18 And it came to pass after these things that his master's wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, "Lie with me."
But he refused and said to his master's wife, "Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand.
"There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?"
So it was, as she spoke to Joseph day by day, that he did not heed her, to lie with her or to be with her.
But it happened about this time, when Joseph went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the house was inside,
that she caught him by his garment, saying, "Lie with me." But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside.
And so it was, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and fled outside,
that she called to the men of her house and spoke to the, saying, "See, he has brought in to us a Hebrew to mock us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice.
"And it happened, when he heard that I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me, and fled and went outside."
So she kept his garment with her until his master came home.
Then she spoke to him with words like these, saying, "The Hebrew servant whom you brought to us came in to me to mock me;
"so it happened, as I lifted up voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me and fled outside.
Psalm 28:1-5 TO You I will cry, O LORD my Rock; Do not be silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit.
Hear the voice of my supplication When I cry to You, When I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary.
Do not take me away with the wicked And with the workers of iniquity, Who speak peace to their neighbors, But evil is in their hearts.
Give them according to their deeds, and according to their wickedness of their endeavors; Give them according to the work of their hands; Render to them what they deserve.
Because they do not regard the works of the LORD, Nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them And not build them up.
Psalm 1:1-6 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
