Proverbs 1:20-27 NKJV

Proverbs 1:20-27 Wisdom calls aloud outside; She raises her voice in the open squares.

She cries out in the chief concourses, At the openings of the gates in the city She speaks her words:

"How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, And fools hate knowledge.

Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known in you.

Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded,

Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of my rebuke,

I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes.

When you terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind. When distress and anguish come upon you.

John 7:37-44 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.

"He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."

But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

Therefore many from the crowd, when they heard this saying, said, "Truly this is the Prophet."

Others said, "This is the Christ." But some said, "Will the Christ come out of Galilee?

"Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?"

So there was a division among the people because of Him.

Now some of them wanted to take Him, but no one laid hands on Him.

Joel 2:25-32 "So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, the consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.

You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame.

Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the LORD your God and there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame.

"And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams,  Your young men shall see visions.

And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

"And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth; Blood and fire and pillars of smoke.

The sun shall be turned darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.

And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the LORD has said, Among the remnant whom the LORD calls.

Luke 7:24-30 When the messengers of John had departed, He began to speak to the multitudes concerning John: "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

"But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Indeed those who are gorgeously appareled and live in luxury are in king's courts.

"But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you; and more than a prophet.

"This is he of whom it is written: 'Behold, I send My messenger before your face, Who will prepare Your way before You."

"For I say to you, among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."

And when all the people heard Him, even the tax collectors justified God, having been baptized with the baptism of John.

But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him.
