Proverbs 2:1-9 NKJV
Proverbs 2:1-9 My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you,
So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding;
Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding,
If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come understanding;
He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those walk uprightly;
He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints
Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path.
Proverbs 4:20-27 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.
Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;
For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of its spring the issues of life.
Put away from you a deceitful mouth, And put perverse lips far from you.
Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.
Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established.
Do not turn to the right or to the left; Remove you foot from evil.
Proverbs 3:13-18 Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding;
For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than find gold.
She is more precious than rubies, And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.
Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor.
Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.
She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are all who retain her.
James 1:2-8 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trails,
knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
For let not the man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
he is a double minded man, unstable in all his ways.
Job 32:4-14 Now because they were years older than he, Elihu had waited to speak to Job.
When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, his wrath was aroused.
So Elihu, the son of Barachel the Buzite, answered and said; "I am young in years, and you are very old; Therefore I was afraid, And dared not declare my opinion to you.
I said, 'Age should speak, And multitude of years should teach wisdom.'
But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.
Great men are not always wise, Nor do the aged always understand justice.
"Therefore I say, 'Listen to me, I also will declare my opinion.'
Indeed I waited for your words, I listened to your reasonings, while you searched out what to say.
I paid close attention to you; And surely not one of you convinced Job, Or answered his words--
Lest you say, 'We have found wisdom'; God will vanquish him, not man.
Now he has not directed his words against me; So I will not answer him with your words.
Psalm 84:10-12 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of My God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly.
O LORD of hosts, Blessed is the man who trusts in You!
1 Samuel 2:6-9 "The LORD kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and brings up.
The LORD makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up.
He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set them among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory. "For the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and He has set the feet of His saints, But the wicked shall be silent in darkness. "For by strength no man shall prevail.
