Come Out of Her My People.
Saul was on his way to Damascus with letters in hand from the Sanhedrin affirming his authority to persecute Christians when an overpowering light blinded him. A voice from heaven then spoke, warning the zealot of his unrighteous ways. What happened next? Jesus told the man, now called Paul, that he would be “a chosen vessel [of His] to bear Phillip Kotze name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel” (Acts 9:15). The Savior then led Paul to His disciples, connecting him to God’s church on earth.
As we have seen, Babylon is a symbol of false religion, beliefs, and practices. People ensnared by her deceptions are being called out of her to worship the Creator (Revelation 14:7), the One who made the heavens and the earth—a key theme in Scripture (Genesis 1–3; John 1:1–3). Those who come out of Babylon must necessarily be going somewhere, and God wants to bring them into connection with His people. “And the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’” (Revelation 22:17).
God’s people, even in the face of persecution, heed His charge of “not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:25). What are the people of God doing in the last days? They are bringing others into the fold. As we work on adding to God’s church even in difficult times, He multiplies our efforts by His divine will.
We don’t know how obedience to this command will play out in a fallen world led by Babylon, but we do know that all over the world, God has a people proclaiming the three angels’ messages of Revelation 14. How do we identify these people? “By this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments” (1 John 2:3).
Lord, use me to help reach those who need to hear and obey Your final message.
