At the Beginning One Language NKJV

Genesis 11:1-9 Now the whole earth had one language and one speech.

And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain on the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there.

Then they said to one another, "Come, let us make bricks and bake them throughly." They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar.

And they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth."

"But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built.

And the Lord said, "Indeed the people are one and they have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.

"Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech."

So the Lord scatered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building  the city.

Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.

Genesis 10:10-12 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calmeh, in the land of Shinar.

From that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah,

and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (that is the principal city),

Psalm 114:1-2 WHEN Israel went out of Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people of strange language,

Judah became His sanctuary, And Israel His dominion.

Psalm 81:3-5 Blow the trumpet at the time of the New Moon, At the full moon, on our solemn feast day.

For this is a statute for Israel, A law of the God of Jacob.

This He established in Joseph as a testimony,  When He went throughout the land of Egypt, Where I heard a language I did not understand.

Deuteronomy 4:25-31 "When you beget children and grandchildren and have grown old in the land, and act corruptly and make a carved image in the form of anything, and do evil in the sight of the Lord your God to provoke Him to anger,

"I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you soon will utterly perish from the land which you cross over the Jordan to possess; you will not prolong your days in it, but will be utterly destroyed.

"And the Lord will scatter you among the people's, and you will be left few in number among the nations where the Lord will drive you.

"And there you will serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see or hear  or eat or smell,

"But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

"When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to the Lord your God and obey His voice

"(for the Lord your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, Nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.

Daniel 1:2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim King of Judah into his hand, with some of the articles of the house of God, which he carried into the land of Shinar of the house of his god; and he brought the articles into the treasure house of his god.

Hebrews 11:9-16 By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise;

for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

Bu faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.

Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude -- innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland.

And truly If they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would of had opportunity to return.

But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.
