Preach Christ the Crucified 1 Corinthians 1:23-24 blazes with truth: “We preach Christ crucified: unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God” (KJV). This is a divine call to lift high the cross, where Jesus poured out His life to redeem a lost world. Let’s embrace this truth, hearts ablaze, to share the gospel with souls craving hope. Paul’s words challenge us. To Jews, a crucified Messiah was a scandal; to Greeks, chasing philosophy, it was absurd. Yet, God’s genius shines: the cross turns weakness into power, foolishness into wisdom. Isaiah 53:5 foresaw it: “He was wounded for our transgressions… with his stripes we are healed.” The cross—Jesus, fully God, fully man, bearing our sin—is our faith’s heartbeat, the message we must proclaim. Jesus embodied this. Matthew 5:3 declares, “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” His teachings—humility, love—point to Calvary. He commanded: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19-20). Mark 16:15 adds, “Preach the gospel to every creature.” This Great Commission sends us daily to the lost: neighbors in despair, coworkers in pain, strangers seeking purpose. In a chaotic world, Christ crucified is hope. Scripture anchors this. Galatians 2:20 states, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live… by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” The cross is our reality, inviting others to live in Him. Philippians 2:5-8 exalts: “Christ Jesus… made himself of no reputation… and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Colossians 1:18 affirms, “He is the head… that in all things he might have the preeminence.” Jesus must be glorified. This is God’s love alive. Romans 5:8 proclaims, “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” This love compels us. Luke 15:4-7 shows a shepherd seeking one lost sheep, rejoicing when found. That’s Jesus; that’s our call. John 4:35 urges, “The fields are white already to harvest.” Souls perish; we hold the saving message. The Bible shows this power. In Acts 2, Peter’s preaching of Christ’s death and resurrection led three thousand to faith (Acts 2:41). In Acts 8, Philip shared Isaiah’s suffering Servant, bringing the Ethiopian eunuch to salvation. The cross convicts, transforms. Paul said, “I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2). Amid worldly pursuits—wealth, fame—the cross stands firm. Ephesians 2:8-9 reminds, “By grace are ye saved through faith… it is the gift of God.” The resurrection seals it! 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 declares, “Christ died… was buried, and… rose again the third day.” The empty tomb brings triumph. Revelation 5:12 sings, “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain.” Jesus, crucified and risen, deserves all praise. The early church preached boldly despite persecution. Acts 4:12 states, “There is none other name… whereby we must be saved.” Hebrews 12:2 urges us to look to “Jesus… who… endured the cross.” John 12:32 promises, “I, if I be lifted up… will draw all men unto me.” Lift Jesus; He draws souls. Every moment offers a chance to share the cross—a kind word, prayer, testimony. The world craves hope, forgiveness. We carry the answer: Christ crucified, risen, reigning. Let’s be compelled by His love (2 Corinthians 5:14). Share this—speak it, live it. Invite someone to church, pray for the hurting, tell of Jesus. We’re His ambassadors, pleading, “Be ye reconciled to God” (2 Corinthians 5:20). In a dying world, Jesus is hope. Lift Him high; in glorifying Him, we find joy, and souls find life. Grace in Christ.
