FAITH LIKE A MUSTARD SEED
For years, Matthew 17:20 confused me.
Jesus said if you have faith “as a mustard seed,” you can move mountains.
But the disciples had faith—they left everything to follow Him!
So why did He say it wasn’t enough?
Most people explain it as “just a tiny bit of faith is enough.”
But that never sat right with me.
Here’s what I recently discovered—and it changes everything.
In the first century, a mustard seed wasn’t just known for being small.
It was known for being INVASIVE—unstoppable and impossible to contain.
Once planted, it would take over a field, crowding out everything else and becoming impossible to uproot. Farmers feared it.
That’s the faith Jesus was talking about.
Rooted & Unshakable – anchored so deep that nothing can pull it out.
Forceful & Overtaking – it doesn’t coexist with fear or doubt; it crowds them out.
Uncontainable – spreading into every part of your life.
Kingdom-Establishing – taking ground and destroying every lie.
So ask yourself:
Do you have faith as a mustard seed—faith that takes over, uproots fear, and refuses to be contained?
