Proverbs 1:2-3 That men may know wisdom and instruction, understand words of insight, 

receive instruction in wise dealing, righteousness, justice, and equity;

Proverbs 1:7-10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and reject not your mother's teaching;

for they are a fair garland for your head, and pendants for your neck.

My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent.

Proverbs 2:1-7 My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you,

making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding;

yes, if you cry out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,

if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures;

then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.

For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;

he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity,

Proverbs 4:1-2 Hear, O sons, a father's instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain insight;

for I give you good precepts; do not forsake my teaching.

Proverbs 4:4-5 he taught me, and said to me "let your heart hold fast my words; keep my commandment, and live;

do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. Get wisdom; get insight.

Proverbs 4:10-13 Hear, my son, and accept my words, that the years of your life may be many.

I have taught you the way of wisdom; I have led you in the paths of uprightness.

When you walk, your step will not be hampered; and if you run, you will not stumble.

Keep hold of instruction, do not let go; guard her, for she is your life.

Proverbs 4:20-23 My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.

Let  them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart.

For they are life to him who finds them, and healing to all his flesh.

Keep your heart with all vigilance; for from it flow the springs of life.

Proverbs 8:10-11 Take my instruction, instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold;

for wisdom is better than jewels, and all that you may desire cannot compare with her.

Proverbs 10:17 He who heeds instruction is of the path of life, but he who rejects reproof goes astray.

Proverbs 12:1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.

Proverbs 13:18 Poverty and disgrace come to him who ignores instruction, but he who heeds reproof is honored.

Proverbs 15:31-33 He whose ear heeds wholesome admonition will abide among the wise.

He who ignores instruction despises himself, but he who heeds admonition gains understanding.

The fear of the LORD is instruction in wisdom, and humility goes before honor.
