2 Timothy 2:1-13 You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus,

and what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

Take your share of sufferings as a good soldier of Christ Jesus,

No soldier on service gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to satisfy the one who enlisted him.

An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.

It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops,

Think over what I say, for the Lord will grant you understanding in everything.

Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descended from David, as preached in my gospel,

the gospel for which I am suffering and wearing fetters like a criminal. But the word of God is not fettered.

Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which in Christ Jesus goes with eternal glory.

The saying is sure; If we have died with him, we shall also live with him;

if we endure, we shall also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us;

if we are faithless, he remains faithful--for he cannot deny himself.

Psalm 30:4-5 Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name.

For his anger is but for a moment and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.

Proverbs 24:23-25 These also are saying of the wise. partiality in judging is not good.

but those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, and a good blessing will be upon them.

And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband;

and I heard a great voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling of God is with men. He will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself will be with them;

he will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away."

And he who sat upon the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." Also he said, "Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true."

And he said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give water without price from the fountain of the water of life.
