Broken NKJV

1 Samuel 2:1-11 And Hannah prayed and said; "My heart rejoices in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD. I smile at my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.

"No one is holy like the LORD, For there is none besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God.

"Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the LORD is the God of knowledge; And by Him actions are weighed.

The bows of the mighty men are broken, and those who stumbled are girded with strength.

Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread, and the hungry have ceased to hunger. Even the barren has borne seven, and she who has many children has become feeble.

The Lord kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and brings up.

The Lord makes poor and makes rich. He brings low and lifts up.

He raises the poor from the dust. And He lifts the beggar from the ash heap. To set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory. "For the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, And He has set the world upon them.

He will guard the feet of His saints, But the wicked shall be silent in darkness.

The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken in pieces; From heaven He will thunder against them. The LORD will judge the ends of the earth. "He will give strength to His king, And exalt the horn of His anointed."

Then Elkanah went to his house at Ramah. But the child ministered to the LORD before Eli the priest.

Nehemiah 1:1-11 The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. It came to pass in the month of Chislev, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the Citadel.

That Hanani one of my brethren came with men from Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews who had escaped, who had survived the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.

And they said to me, “The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province are there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.”

So it was, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for many days; I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.

And I said, “I pray, Lord God of heaven, O great and awesome God, You who keep Your covenant and mercy with those who love You and observe Your commandments,

“please let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open, that you may bear the prayer of Your servant which I pray before You now, day and night, for the children of Israel Your servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel which we have sinned against You. Both my father's house and I have sinned.

We have acted very corruptly against You, and have not kept the commandments, the statutes, nor the ordinances which You commanded Your servant Moses.

“Remember, I pray, the word that You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, 'If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations,

but if you return to Me, and keep My commandments and do them, though some of you were cast out to the farthest part of the heavens, yet I will gather them from there, and bring them to the place which I have chosen as a dwelling for my name.

“Now these are Your servants and Your people, whom You have redeemed by Your great power, and by Your strong hand.”

“O Lord, I pray, please let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servants who desire to fear Your name, and let Your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.” For I was the kings' cupbearer.

Psalm 6:1-10 O LORD, do not rebuke me in Your anger, Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure.

Have mercy on me, O LORD, for I am weak; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are troubled.

My soul also is greatly troubled; But you, O LORD--how long?

Return, O LORD, deliver me! Oh, save me for Your mercies' sake!

For in death there is no remembrance of You; In the grave who will give You thanks?

I am weary with my groaning, all night I made my bed to swim, I drench my couch with my tears.

My eye wastes away because of all my enemies.

Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity, for the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping,

The Lord has heard my supplication; The Lord will receive my prayer.

Let all my enemies be ashamed and greatly troubled; let them turn back and be ashamed suddenly.
