Purpose- Longer Version NKJV

Ecclesiastes 3:1-11 To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven:

A time to be born, and A time to die; A time to be plant, and A time to pluck what is planted;

A time to kill, and A time to heal, A time to break down, and A time to build up,

A time to weep, and A time to laugh, A time to mourn, and A time to dance; A time to cast away stones,

and A time to gather stones, A time to embrace, and A time to refrain from embracing;

A time to gain, And A time to lose, A time to keep, and A time to throw away;

A time to tear, and A time to sew; A time to keep silence, and A time to speak;

A time to love, And A time to hate; A time to war, and A time to peace.

What profit has the worker from that in which he labors?

I have seen the God-given task with which the sons of men are to be occupied.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work of God does from beginning to end.

Ecclesiastes 3:16-22 Moreover I saw under the sun; In the place of judgment, Wickedness was there; And in the place of righteousness, Iniquity was there.

I said in my heart, "God shall judge the righteous and the wicked, For there is a time there for every purpose and for every work."

I said in my heart, "Concerning the condition of the sons of men, God tests them, that they may see that they themselves are like animals."

For what happens to the sons of men also happens to animals; one thing befalls them; as one dies, so does the other. Surely, they all have one breath; man has no advantage over animals, for all is vanity.

All go to one place; all are from the dust, and all return to dust.

Who knows the spirit of the sons of men, which goes upward, and the spirit of the animal, which goes down to the earth?

So perceived that nothing is better than that a man should rejoice in his own works, for that is his heritage. For who can bring him to see what will happen after him?

Ecclesiastes 8:1-8 Who is like a wise man? And who knows the interpretation of a thing? A man's wisdom makes his face shine, And the sternness of his face is changed.

I say, "Keep the king's commandment for the sake of your oath to God.

"Do not be hasty to go from his presence. Do not take your stand for an evil thing, for he does whatever pleases him."

Where the word of a king is, there is power; and who may say to him, “What are you doing?”

He who keeps His command will experience nothing harmful; and a wise man's heart discerns both time and judgment,

Because for every matter there is a time and judgment, though the misery of man increases greatly.

For he who does not know what will happen; so who can tell him when it will occur?

No one has power over the Spirit to retain the spirit, and no one has power in the day of death. There is no releases from that war, and wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it.

All this I have seen, and applied my heart to every work that is done under the sun; There is a time in which one man rules over another to his own hurt.

Then I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of holiness, and they were  forgotten in the city where they had so done. This also is vanity.

Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged, yet I surely know that it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before Him.

But it will not be well with the wicked; nor will he prolong his days, which are as a shadow, because he does not fear before God.
