Romans 3:1-3 Message Exploring

Romans 3:1-3 So what difference does it make who's a Jew and who isn't, Who has been trained in God's ways and who hasn't? As it turns out, it makes a lot of difference--but not the difference so many have assumed.

First, there's the matter of being put in charge of writing down and caring for God's revelation, these Holy Scriptures.

So, what if, in the course of doing that, some of those Jews abandoned their post? God didn't abandon them. Do you think their faithlessness cancels out his faithfulness?

1 Peter 2:13-17 Make the Master proud of you by being good citizens. Respect the authorities, whatever their level; they are God's emissaries for keeping order. It is God's will that by doing good, you might cure the ignorance of the fools who think you're a danger to society. Exercise your freedom by serving God, not by breaking the rules. Treat everyone you meet with dignity. Love your spiritual family. Revere God. Respect the government.

Paying Taxes

Matthew 22:15-17 That's when the Pharisees plotted a way to trap him into saying something damaging. They sent their disciples, with a few of Herod's follower mixed in, to ask, "Teacher, we know you have integrity, teach the way of God accurately, are indifferent to popular opinion, and don't pander to your students. So tell us honestly; Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?"

Matthew 22: 18-19 Jesus knew they were up to no good. He said, "Why are you playing these games with me? Why are you trying to trap me? Do you have a coin? Let me see it." They handed him a silver piece.

Matthew 22:20 "This engraving--who does it look like? And whose name name is on it?"

Matthew 22:21 They said, "Caesar." "Then give Caesar what is his, and give God what is his."

Matthew 22:22 The Pharisees were speechless. They went off shaking their heads.

He Put Our Lives Together

Titus 3:1-2 Remind the people to respect the government and be law-abiding, always ready to lend a helping hand. No insults, no fights. God's people should be bighearted and courteous.
