Romans 3:1-3 Amplified Exploring
All the World Guilty
Romans 3:1-3 THEN WHAT is the advantage of the Jew? Or what is the benefit of circumcision
Great in every respect. To begin with, the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God [His very words].
What then? If some did not believe or were unfaithful [to God], their lack of belief will not nullify and make invalid the faithfulness of God and His word, will it?
Honor Authority
1 Peter 2:13-17 Submit yourselves to [the authority of] every human institution for the sake of the Lord [to honor His name], whether it is to a king as one in a position of power,
or to governors as sent by him to bring punishment to those who do wrong, and to praise and encourage those who do right.
For it it the will of God that by doing right you may silence (muzzle, gag) the [culpable] ignorance and irresponsible criticisms of foolish people.
Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover or pretext for evil, but [use it and live] as bond-servants of God.
Show respect for all people [treat them honorably], love the brotherhood [of believers], fear God, honor the king.
Tribute to Caesar
Matthew 22:15-22 Then the Pharisees went and conspired together plotting how to trap Him by [distorting] what He said.
They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that You are sincere and that You teach the way of God truthfully, without concerning Yourself about [what] anyone [thinks or says of your teaching]; For you are impartial and do not seek anyone's favor [and You treat all people alike, regardless of status].
"Tell us then, what do You think? Is it permissible [according to Jewish law and tradition] to pay a poll-tax to Caesar, or not?"
But Jesus, aware of their malice, asked, "Why are you testing Me, you hypocrites?
"Show me the coin used for the poll-tax." And they brought Him a denarius [a day's wage].
And Jesus said to them, "Whose likeness and inscription is this?"
They said, "[The Emperor Tiberius] Caesar's." Then He said to them, "Then pay to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's."
When they heard this, they were caught off guard, and they left Him and went away.
Godly Living
Titus 3:1-2 REMIND PEOPLE to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready and willing to do good,
to slander or abuse no one, to be kind and conciliatory and gentle, showing unqualified consideration and courtesy toward everyone.
