Good morning everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
This morning, I was blessed with a great reminder of who I am and who You are. I was blessed with the lyrics of Made for More in my head. I had to look it up to get the title. I am terrible in that area. When I found the one I thought it was, I started playing it … tears flowed as I am reminded that I was made for more. I was reminded that the conflicts that I am facing are not mine to face alone. They are His.
In the last week or so, people started preparing for the Rapture. Someone had a dream and proclaimed it to be one of TWO dates.
“Watch out for false. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.” – Matthew 7:15
All this hype reminded me of Y2K. The world is ending … live now while you can.
In both instances, people made poor choices in their living arrangements. In the Y2K scare, computers were supposed to crash, and no one would ever know you bought this merchandise because you used a credit card, and all that would be wiped out. (oops). The Resurrection is happening on this date. Are you ready? I read a story where a woman sold her car because of the resurrection prediction, and now she cannot get to work.
In both of these cases, people made not-so-smart choices with their finances and ultimately will and have suffered the consequences. Many times, I have posted on the choices that we make. That the choices that we make will do one of two things. 1. Make someone’s life better. 2. Make someone’s life worse. Each of those situations are judged … when the day of reckoning comes. I will be responsible for any and all of my choices.
This morning’s song choice reminded me of that. MY choices are MY responsibility. MY choices are just that MY choice. I can choose to live life with a bitter heart or I can choose to live life with a giving heart. I can choose to allow others to harden my heart, or I can choose to forgive and have a loving heart. I can choose to reach out my hand and help, or I can choose to sit on my duff and allow you to struggle. All of which are MY choice.
In my choices, and with the reminder of the song this morning, I choose to be the more that God intended me to be. I choose to help. I choose to forgive. I choose to give life abundantly.
In my choice of choices, when I stand in judgement on that fateful day, I will stand before the Father and answer for the choices I have made. I choose to try and hear those words … ‘Well done good and faithful servant’.
What will your choice be today?
Be blessed today my friends.
***Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. – Matthew 7:13-14
