Open Letter to the President of Ukraine
Mr. President,
With a heart heavy in lamentation, I write these words under the shadow of sorrow. The cries of your people rise like incense to the heavens; the tears of widows and the blood of children stain the earth. Scripture reminds us: “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity” (Ecclesiastes 1:2). The pursuit of war, the endless cycle of destruction, is but chasing after the wind.
The Bible declares:
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9).
“They shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore” (Isaiah 2:4).
“Seek peace and pursue it” (Psalm 34:14).
Mr. President, the Lord entrusts every leader with a sacred duty—to guard life, to shepherd the people, to seek peace rather than destruction. Have pity on your beloved nation. Listen to the groans of the weary, for the land longs for healing.
My humble resolutions inspired by the Word of God:
1. Choose dialogue over weapons. Like Joseph who forgave his brothers, let reconciliation triumph over vengeance.
2. Embrace forgiveness. Remember the words of Christ: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34).
3. Establish justice and equity. For “let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream” (Amos 5:24).
4. Unite the people. A divided house cannot stand (Mark 3:25).
