THE ADVENT TRUTH
When someone says, “Submit to the one true Catholic Church,” it might sound convincing… but the question we must ask is, what does the Bible say? Jesus never told us to submit to Catholicism — He said, “Follow Me” (Matthew 4:19).
The true church is not a an institution with paganized practices and beliefs, like Catholicism. According to Scripture, the church is made up of believers who follow the Lamb wherever He goes (Revelation 14:4). In Matthew 16:18, Jesus said, “Upon this rock I will build My church.” That rock was Himself, not Peter, not a pope, and not a religious system.
The Bible repeatedly warns about human traditions replacing God’s commandments. Jesus rebuked this very thing: “Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition” (Mark 7:9). Catholicism has openly admitted to changing God’s law, especially the Sabbath commandment, and placing church authority above Scripture. This fulfills the prophecy of Daniel 7:25 about a power that would “think to change times and laws.”
In Revelation 18:4, God gives a final call: “Come out of her, My people.” This means there are sincere followers of Christ inside false systems of worship whom He is calling to stand on His Word alone, not the traditions of men. Salvation is through Christ alone — not through a priest, not through Mary, and not through a church institution (Acts 4:12).
Submitting to Jesus means obeying His voice and His Word, not blindly following a system just because it claims to be “holy” or “apostolic.” The true test isn’t the age of the church or the titles of its leaders, but whether it teaches the pure gospel found in the Bible.
The real choice is clear: will we follow the Lamb or the traditions of man? The everlasting gospel calls us to worship the Creator, keep His commandments, and prepare for His soon return (Revelation 14:6-12).
