An Example of What Love Really looks Like KJV
1 Corinthians 13:1-8 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity. I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophesy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaulteth not itself, is not puffed up.
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Charity never faileth but whether there be prophecies, they shall not fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
An Example of Love in action
Matthew 26:36-47 Then cometh Je'-sus with them unto a place called Geth-sem'-a-ne, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
And he took with him Pe'-ter and the two sons Zeb'-e'dee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even unto death; tarry ye here, and watch with me.
And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless not as I will, but as thou will.
And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Pe'-ter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
He went away gain the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.And he came and found them asleep again; for their eyes were heavy.
And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest; behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
Rise, let us be going; behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.
And while he yet spake, lo, Ju'-das, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
