Acts 2:22-28 NKJV
Acts 2:22-28 "Men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know--
"Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God. you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death;
"whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.
"For David says concerning Him; 'I foresaw the LORD always before my face, For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken.
Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad; Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope.
For You will not leave my soul in Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.'
Isaiah 50:4-6 "The Lord God has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by mornings. He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.
The Lord God has opened My ear; And I was not rebellious, Nor did I turn away.
I gave My back to those who struck Me, And My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.
Acts 5:22-32 But when the officers came and did not find them in the prison, they returned and reported,
saying, "Indeed we found the prison shut securely, and the guards standing outside before the doors; but when we opened them, we found no one inside!"
Now when the high priest, the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these things, they wondered what the outcome would be.
So one came and told them, saying, "Look, the men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people!"
Then the captain went with the officers and brought them without violence, for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.
And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them,
saying, "Did we not not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man's blood on us!"
But Peter and the other apostles answered and said; "We ought to obey God rather than men.
"Then God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree.
"Him God has exalted to his right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.
"And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him."
