Good morning everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Well I made a total booboo yesterday. Sacrilege even. I finally found the candy bar I have been looking for, Snickerdoodle Twix. One of my carriers found one for me and I was going to get one for my daughter-in-law (she likes snickerdoodles too). Silly me, thought that this candy bar would be good to stay in my car all day yesterday … afternoon … while I was in my nice climate-controlled office. Needless to say, it did not fare well. I will need to locate another one before Monday when our son flies back. That poor candy bar did not deserve such treatment.

Yesterday I met my new boss. I got in trouble on my very first day. Call it a gift. I can get in trouble so easily. What did I do? It is what I didn’t do … I did not wear my unicorn costume. Yep. That will probably result in 50 lashes with that melted snickerdoodle candy bar. I see her as the mean one.

This morning I woke up with a pondering question that I think I will share. Is each generation smarter or dumber than the last? Are we smarter than our parents?

The second question I woke up with … why did someone invent the wheel? And who? Did John Jacob Jinglehiemer Schmidt wake up one day and say, “I want to put a bucket on a round thing, with two sticks for handles to make moving my rocks easier?” Like, how and why?

This is my brain in the morning. Sometimes all day. But that then brings me back to my first question. Are we smarter than our parents? If so, why do we feel like there is so much we do not know?

All teachers want their students to succeed. Even surpass them in some way. To expand their brain and ability to far reaches of its capacity. Jesus wants to push us into the best possible us that we can be. He wants to expand our brain and ability to their maximum. Will we ever surpass him, of course not…he is the all-knowing…but he can impart on us the skills that our journey will lead us on.

I am sure that in some areas, we are smarter than our parents. Such as electronics. My mom is so NOT electronic savvy. But in the same regards, I am not as savvy as my kids. That being said, there is knowledge that my mom has that I wish I had. There is just an education based strictly from the environment in which she grew up in that you can only learn when you are there. Just as there are some things that my children will never know because their environment is different than mine.

Yesterday I was asked to teach all that I know to my successor. Which I have been trying to do, but honestly, I believe I have forgotten more than I have taught. LOL. However, each day I try to teach something new. Whether it is job related to the physical or job related in the mental. Or the third … outside the box thinking. Some days my student makes me stop and think … that makes heart full. Like watching one of your kids learn a new task without your assistance.

Knowledge comes in all forms. Some things you learn by observing. Other things by sitting in a classroom and reading a book. You may learn something, even when scrolling through social media (fact check though). Wisdom comes to all who look for opportunities to learn.

So, today my fellow Christians, look for opportunities to learn. From all who surround you. Just because we may be older does not mean that we are wiser in all things. Be a well-rounded student for the Gospel and share your wealth of knowledge with those you encounter as well. Knowledge is not good unless it is shared.

Be blessed today my friends.
