Be Holy for I Am Holy

Scripture

Leviticus 11:45 (NKJV)
For I am the Lord who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.


Called to Holiness

In this verse, God reminds Israel of their deliverance from Egypt and calls them to holiness. Their obedience in matters of diet, worship, and daily life was not about legalism but about reflecting the character of the God who saved them. Holiness was their response to redemption.

For believers today, this command still stands. Because of Christ, we have been delivered from sin and death. Our call is to live in holiness, not to earn salvation but to display the character of the One who redeemed us. Holiness means being set apart, walking in purity, and living in devotion to God in every area of life.

This verse teaches us that holiness is both a calling and a privilege. To be holy is to belong to God and to reflect His nature to the world.

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for saving me and calling me Your own. Teach me to live in holiness, reflecting Your character in all I do. Help me to see holiness not as a burden but as a joyful privilege of belonging to You. In Jesus name, Amen.
