THE "AGE OF REPTILES" MYTH

For generations, textbooks and documentaries have taught that Earth experienced an “Age of Reptiles” lasting tens of millions of years—a grand era when dinosaurs ruled the land, reptiles dominated the seas, and flying lizards filled the skies. But what if this narrative isn’t drawn from the rocks themselves, but rather from an interpretation imposed upon them? THE TIMELINE DOESN'T FIT

According to the Bible’s clear chronology, only about 1,656 years passed from Creation to the global Flood described in Genesis. From the Flood to today, roughly 4,500 years have elapsed. That short timeline simply doesn’t allow for an ancient Earth filled with separate, millions-of-years-long “ages.” Yet, rather than question their assumptions, secular scientists insist on stretching time to accommodate evolutionary theory.

During the 19th century, men like Charles Lyell and Charles Darwin sought to reinterpret the rock layers and fossils apart from the biblical account. They replaced the historical understanding—where fossils were seen as the result of Noah’s Flood—with the idea of “deep time.” In doing so, they built a framework that needed long ages, not because the rocks demanded it, but because evolution did.

FOSSILS TELL A DIFFERENT STORY

True science observes that fossils require rapid burial and preservation. A creature left to decay on a riverbank or ocean floor never becomes a fossil; scavengers and bacteria ensure that. Some are found mid-meal, mid-birth, or even suffocating in mud. These facts point not to slow, calm processes over eons, but to a sudden, global catastrophe that fits perfectly with the account of Noah’s Flood.

SOFT TISSUES DEFY DEEP TIME

Adding to the mystery of the evolutionary timeline are discoveries of original biomaterials—soft tissues, collagen, and even blood cells—found in fossils, supposedly tens of millions of years old. These delicate structures simply can not survive such immense spans of time. Their presence makes sense only if these creatures were buried thousands, not millions, of years ago.

A Biblical Lens Restores the Truth

When we remove the lens of evolution and deep time, the fossil record makes sense. The so-called “Age of Reptiles” wasn’t a drawn-out epoch—it was a snapshot of a world buried suddenly and catastrophically during the global Flood. Reptiles, mammals, fish, and plants were entombed in layers of sediment as the waters rose and then receded.

Rather than an ancient world evolving over countless ages, the evidence supports a recent, global judgment and a faithful Creator who warned humanity, preserved life through Noah’s Ark, and reshaped the face of the earth.
