1 Thessalonians 5:1-6 NKJV

Matthew 25:1-13 "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.

"Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

"Those who were foolish took their lambs and took no oil with them,

"but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

"But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

"And at midnight a cry was heard, 'behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!'

"Then all those virgins virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.

"And the foolish said to the wise,'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out,'

"But the wise answered, saying, 'No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves,'

"And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

"afterward the other virgins came also, saying, 'Lord , Lord, open to us!'

"But he answered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.'

"Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

1 Peter 5:1-11 The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed;

Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly;

nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock;

and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.

Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,

casting all you care upon Him for He cares for you.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood  in the world.

But may the God of all grace, who called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strenghen, and settle you.

To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
