THE ADVENT TRUTH
Some Christians have become more defined by their political tribe than by the cross they claim to carry. You can’t serve both the Lamb and the elephant—or the Lamb and the donkey. God never called us to be Republican or Democrat. He called us to be like Jesus. But too many have traded their heavenly citizenship for a political identity, forgetting that the kingdom of God “is not of this world” (John 18:36).

When our loyalty to a party makes us justify sin, ignore injustice, or despise those Christ died for, we’ve lost sight of the gospel. When we quote more pundits than Scripture, or get more fired up about an election than about evangelism, we’ve forgotten who we are. Philippians 3:20 reminds us that “our citizenship is in heaven,” not in Washington, not in any political movement.

Yes, Christians should care about truth, morality, and justice—but not at the expense of love, humility, and holiness. Jesus wasn’t sent to wave a political flag; He came to raise the standard of righteousness. The early church turned the world upside down, not by voting red or blue, but by living holy and preaching Christ crucified.

Some of y’all are so busy being “conservative” or “liberal” that you forgot to be Christlike. The world doesn’t need more culture warriors—it needs humble servants who reflect Jesus in spirit and in truth. If your political passion outshines your compassion for souls, it’s time to repent and realign your heart with heaven.

Let’s get back to our true identity. Not left wing, not right wing—leave all that to God.
