Isaiah 3:16-26 NKJV
Jeremiah 13:20-23 Lift up your eyes and see Those who come from the north. Where is the flock that was given to you, Your beautiful sheep?
What will you say when He punishes you? For you have taught them To be chieftains, to be head over you. Will not pangs seize you, Like a woman in labor?
And if you say in your heart, Why have these things come upon me?" For the greatness of your iniquity Your skirts have been uncovered, Your heels made bare.
Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots? Then may you also do good who are accustomed to do evil.
Isaiah 22:12-14 And in that day the Lord God of hosts Called for weeping and for mourning, For baldness and for girding with sackcloth.
But instead, joy and gladness, Slaying oxen and killing sheep, Eating meat and drinking wine; "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!"
Then it was revealed in my hearing by the LORD of hosts, "Surely for this iniquity there will be no atonement for you, Even to your death," says the Lord God of hosts.
Jeremiah 14:1-6 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah concerning the droughts.
"Judah mourns, And her gates languish; They mourn for the land, And the cry of Jerusalem has gone up.
Their nobles have sent their lads for water; They went to the cisterns and found no water. They returned with their vessels empty; They were ashamed and confounded And covered their heads
Because the ground is parched, For there was no rain in the land, The plowmen were ashamed; They covered their heads.
Yes, the deer also gave birth in the field, But left because there was no grass.
And the wild donkeys stood in the desolate heights; They sniffed at the wind like jackals; Their eyes failed because there was no grass."
Lamentation 1:12-16 "Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Behold and see If there is any sorrow like my sorrow, Which has been brought on me. Which the LORD inflicted In the day of His fierce anger.
"From above He has sent fire into my bones, And it overpowered them; He has spread a net for my feet And turned me back; He has made me desolate And faint all the day.
"The yoke of my transgressions was bound; They were woven together by His hands, And thrust upon my neck, He made my strength fail; The Lord delivered me into the hands of those whom I am not able to withstand.
"The Lord has trampled underfoot all my mighty men in my midst; He has called an assembly against me To crush my young men; The Lord trampled as in a winepress The virgin daughter of Judah.
"For these things I weep; My eye, my eye overflows with water; Because the comforter, who should restore my life, Is far from me. My children are desolate Because the enemy prevailed."
