Isaiah 5:24-25 NKJV

Psalm 1:1-6 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.

He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers  of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand  in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

2 Kings 22:11-20 Now it happened, when the king heard the words of the Book of the law, that he tore his clothes.

Then the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam  the son of Shaphan, Achbor the of Michaiah, Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah a servant of the king, saying,

"Go, inquire of the LORD for me, for the people and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that have been found; for great is the wrath of the LORD that is aroused against us, because our fathers have not obeyed the words of this book, to do according to all that is written concerning us."

So Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Achbor, Shaphan, and Asaiah went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harbas, keeper of the wardrobe. (She dwelt in Jerusalem in the Second Quarter.) And they spoke with her.

Then she said to them, "Thus says the LORD GOD of Israel, 'Tell the man who sent you to Me,

"Thus says the LORD: 'Behold, I will  bring calamity on this place and on its inhabitants--all the words of the book which the king of Judah has read--

'because they have forsaken Me and burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke Me to anger with all the works of their hands. Therefore My wrath shall be aroused against this place and shall not be quenched.'"

"But as for the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire for the LORD, in this manner you shall speak to him, 'Thus says the LORD God of Israel: "concerning the words which you have heard--

"because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before the LORD when you heard what I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they would become a desolation and a curse, and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you," says the LORD.

"Surely, therefore, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace; and your eyes shall not see all the calamity which I bring on this place."'" So they brought back word to the king.

Isaiah 9:8-17 The Lord sent a word against Jacob, And it has fallen on Israel.

All the people will know--Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria--Who say in pride and arrogance of heart:

"The bricks have fallen down, But we will rebuild with hewn stones; The sycamores are cut down, But we will replace them with cedars."

Therefore the LORD shall set up The adversaries of Rezin against him, And spur his enemies on,

The Syrians before and the Philistines behind; And they shall devour Israel with an open mouth. For all this His anger is not turned away, But His hand is stretched out still.

For the people do not turn to Him who strikes them, Nor do they seek the LORD of hosts.

Therefore the LORD will cut off head and tail from Israel, Palm branch and bulrush in one day.

The elder and honorable, he is the head; The prophet who teaches lies, he is the tail.

For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed.

Therefore the Lord will have no joy in their young men, Nor have mercy on their fatherless and widows; For everyone is a hypocrite and an evildoer, And every mouth speaks folly.

For all this His anger is not turned away, But His hand is stretched out still.
