Good morning everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Today is day one. Today is the first day back to normalcy. Today all the family is back home, I am back to work, and routine is or should return. Today is day one.

On the way home from the airport yesterday, I decided to stop at a different gas station for our midtrip potty break. I knew we had stopped there many times before, but what I did not realize was that it was further south than our turn off to get back to Indiana. When the GPS told me to turn, I realized that it was the same way it told us in August when we took the kids to the airport and knew it was wrong. That was not our road. I quickly changed lanes and continued down the highway. Still not realizing that we had passed our normal turn. Ultimately we ended up just following this highway to its end and it ran us right into US 41 … our goal target highway. I told my husband that I kind of preferred this way over the way we have been going because it is quieter, and it runs through a couple of small towns … nice if you have a need for a convenience stop. Noting where we came out at, I am hoping that I remember for our next trip up there. There are two notable negatives. One, it is not a major anything so GPS won’t show it as an option; so I will have to remember. Which leads us to the second negative…history tells me that I won’t remember until I am five miles past the turn.

Have you ever thought about the ‘how’ you got on your path? How did end up in your dream job, when … when you think back you never even considered this type of job but now that you are in it … it fits like a glove? How did you ever find your Mr. Perfect or your Mrs. Perfect? How is it that you feel like such a failure with your kids, but then they show you just how well you raised them? How did you land on your point B when your point A is a universe away?

When I sit and review my life, I promise you that what I am doing now was no WHERE in my vision. I had dreams of being a teacher but then found out you had to stay in school…stopped that idea really quick. Then, since I like to argue, a lawyer … that was even more school. I know I shocked my mom when I joined the Army and then re-enlisted. Now, I am just a few months away from retirement and I am not even sixty. Now I am writing daily posts and books and touching people’s lives through my gift of gab. How is it possible that my Point B is so far away from my Point A?

Just like yesterday when I failed to realize that my normal turn was already behind me, I landed on a highway that worked out much better for us. It gave us a new set of sites to enjoy. It gave us a small adventure as we tried to see a map in our heads of where we might land. It gave us new direction. It gave us a new point B.

Our journeys with Him are very much like our trip back from the airport yesterday. Realizing that the turn we were about to make was not right and to continue straight. Pressing on to the goal while traveling unknown waters as it were. A little daunting to volunteer for the unknown, but well worth it in the end.

The journey that we are all walking now is one that he has purposefully placed before us. He knows that our Point B is heaven, and he is sending us down the roads that will, in essence, be the most beneficial for us and for the Kingdom. Each step that we take plants seeds, waters someone else’s seeds, grooms weeds that are trying to sprout, and cultivates new or even existing believers who may have strayed. Just because the road is not what we saw our road to be, does not mean that it is the wrong road. Go to Him in prayer and ask for guidance. Explain to Him that you are not sure where you headed and the map in your head is not clear. Ask for his divine direction and listen closely as he whispers in your ear.

Be blessed today my friends.
