๐ Day 3 – The Prophets vs The Palace
1 Kings 18:17–18 — “Is that you, you troubler of Israel?” Elijah replied, “I have not made trouble for Israel… but you have abandoned the Lord’s commands.”
Prophets have never been popular with palaces. Elijah wasn’t invited to Ahab’s banquets. Nathan risked his life confronting David. Amos spoke truth to a nation drowning in luxury and injustice.
Prophets disturb the comfortable — because truth always shakes the throne of pride.
In our world, those who speak biblical truth may be labeled “troublemakers.” But silence is not peace — it’s surrender.
Bonhoeffer in Germany, Tutu in South Africa — they stood because conscience demanded it.
Reflection:
The palace fears the prophet because light exposes what power hides.
๐ Action Step:
Be a prophetic voice — not with anger, but with grace. Speak truth where God places you: your home, your job, your city.
And pray for those called to stand in the public square — that they would speak with both courage and compassion.
