God Speaks to Job
Question in the Bible
Job 38:1-3 Then the Lord spoke to Job from a whirlwind and said,
“Who is this ignorant person saying these foolish things?
Prepare yourself for an attack! Get ready to answer the questions I will ask you.
Job 40:6-7 Then the Lord spoke to Job again from the storm:
“Brace yourself and get ready to answer the questions I will ask you.
Answer in the Bible
Job 42:4-7 “You said to me, ‘Listen, and I will speak. I will ask you questions, and you will answer me.’
In the past I heard about you, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.
And I am ashamed of myself. I am so sorry. As I sit in the dust and ashes, I promise to change my heart and my life.”
The Lord Gives Job’s Wealth Back
After the Lord finished talking to Job, he spoke to Eliphaz from Teman. He said, “I am angry with you and your two friends, because you did not tell the truth about me, as my servant Job did.
Romans 10:14-17 But before people can pray to the Lord for help, they must believe in him. And before they can believe in the Lord, they must hear about him. And for anyone to hear about the Lord, someone must tell them.
And before anyone can go and tell them, they must be sent. As the Scriptures say, “How wonderful it is to see someone coming to tell good news!”
But not all the people accepted that good news. Isaiah said, “Lord, who believed what we told them?”
So faith comes from hearing the Good News. And people hear the Good News when someone tells them about Christ.
