Opening Scripture before the Message
Isaiah 55:11 TOL so My word will be that goes out from My mouth. It will not return to Me in vain, but will accomplish what I intend, and will succeed in what I sent it for.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 TOL All Scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for restoration, and for training in righteousness,
so that the person belonging to God may be capable, fully equipped for every good deed.
2 Peter 1:19-21 TOL Furthermore, we have the reliable prophetic word. You do well by paying attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
Above all understand this: no prophecy of Scripture comes about from a person’s own interpretation.
For no prophecy was ever brought forth by human will; rather, people spoke from God as they were moved by the Ruach ha-Kodesh.
How to hear and understand the Gospel
Word out of the Whirlwind
Job 38:1-3 TOL Then Adonai answered Job out of the whirlwind. He said:
“Who is this, who darkens counsel with words without knowledge?
Now gird up your loins like a man; I will question you, and you will inform Me!
Job 40:6-7 TOL Then Adonai answered Job from the whirlwind:
“Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you will inform Me!
Job 42:4-7 TOL You said, ‘Hear now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you will inform Me.’
I had heard of You by the hearing of the ear; but now my eye has seen You.
Therefore I despise myself, and repent on dust and ashes.”
Job Restored
After Adonai had spoken these words to Job, Adonai said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My anger is kindled against you and against your two friends, because you have not spoken about Me what is right, like My servant Job has.
Romans 10:14-17 TOL How then shall they call on the One in whom they have not trusted? And how shall they trust in the One they have not heard of? And how shall they hear without someone proclaiming?
And how shall they proclaim unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who proclaim good news of good things!”
But not all heeded the Good News. For Isaiah says, “Adonai, who has believed our report?”
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Messiah.
Acts 26:17-18 TOL I will rescue you from your own people, and from the Gentiles to whom I am sending you,
to open their eyes—so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of satan to God, that they may receive release from sins as well as a place among those who are made holy through trusting in Me.’
Romans 15:4-7 TOL For whatever was written before was written for our instruction, so that through patience and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Now may the God of patience and encouragement grant you to be like-minded with one another in the manner of Messiah Yeshua,
so that together with one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.
Salvation for Gentiles Too
Therefore accept one another just as Messiah also accepted you, to the glory of God.
